William “Bill” Edward Loka, age 79, of Rhinelander, died on July 23, 2024 at Rennes Health and Rehab of Rhinelander. He was born in Adams, Wis. to Ben and Ida (Lambrecht) Loka on September 17, 1944.
Bill attended several different schools while growing up. First was the Dudley School in Gleason, which was one room with eight grades and one teacher, the Rhinelander district, and ended up graduating from Merrill High School in 1963.
After graduating and living in the Gleason and Merrill area he met his wife Jean Teal, they were married in Neva Corners, on July 23, 1966. Soon after Bill took a job with Wisconsin Public Service out of Rhinelander and worked there for the next 36 years until his retirement.
Bill enjoyed deer and partridge hunting, fishing, and camping with friends and family
Bill is survived by his sons, Mark (Tammy) Loka, and Russell (Melissa) Loka, grandchildren Zoe, Addisyn, Maegan, Macey, and Brad; nieces, nephews, other family, companion of 22 years Linda Gropengiser, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jean (Teal) Loka, parents Ben and Ida, and sister JoAnn Statezny.
A visitation for Bill will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. till noon with a funeral service to immediately follow all at the Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery.
