Barbara Louise Scott

Scott

Barbara Louise (Wolfgram) Scott was born March 12, 1954 in St. Paul, Minn., during a pink snowstorm, that the local weather folks will still refer to occasionally. She was the oldest child of Lawrence and Dorothy Wolfgram, growing up in the St. Paul suburb of Maplewood. She became a child of God through baptism, and later verbally confirmed that faith in the Triune God, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Paul. She became a devoted wife to Dennis Scott on May 8, 1976. They made their home in Richfield, Minn. She was a loving, caring mother and grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and cousin to many.

Barb graduated from Concordia Academy in 1972, then went on to attend Concordia College (now University), St. Paul, as well as taking several classes at Rasmussen Business College. Her first job was arranged by her father – re-packing books at Publisher’s Vending Service. After becoming a mother, she worked as a cook at their school, Mt. Calvary Lutheran, in Richfield. As the boys became older, she worked at Lutheran Brotherhood until it became Thrivent. She then finished her associate’s degree at Inver Hills Community College. She became a care assistant, working for various in-home care agencies while she and Denny lived in Richfield and later in Rhinelander.

Barb has always been known in her communities as a loving, caring, and giving person, especially in her faith communities of Mt. Calvary in Richfield and St. Mark’s in Rhinelander. She spent time in those churches with her ladies’ Lutheran Women in Mission (LWML) guilds, and recently as a Sunday school instructor.

Barb is survived by her husband, Dennis Scott, sons Aaron (Amy), and Derek, and granddaughters Leah and Renee, her siblings, Beverly (Keith) Esala, Robert (Leslie), Timothy (Sharon), and Daniel (Hollie) Wolfgram, as well as dozens of loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Dorothy Wolfgram.
