James “Jamie” Elliot Kuski, age 31, of Rhinelander died July 16, 2024. He was born on May 12, 1993 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander. He attended Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School through grade school. During his teen years, he attended Fort McCoy’s Wisconsin Challenge Academy and graduated from Rhinelander High School in 2011. He was the oldest of two siblings born to Steven and Tammy (Laddusire) Kuski.

James worked as a driver for UPS for 11 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman who spent countless hours at the family hunting shack on the Noisy Creek, Camp 9 1/2. He kept the family fridge stocked with fresh fish and venison. He enjoyed snowboarding, riding his four-wheeler, and skateboarding with his dog, Finn.

James was preceded in death by his father, Steve, and paternal grandparents, James and Lola (Godleske) Kuski. He is survived by his mother, Tammy, and sister, Stephanie. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles, including Tina Anderson, Todd (Missy) Laddusire, Barbara (Gary) Plouff, Jean (Fletcher) Lee, Anne (Anthony) Cirilli, Timothy (Jeanne) Kuski; and cousins Alex Wilber, Chad Laddusire, Cody Wilber, Brant (Abbey) Laddusire, Nicole Laddusire, Robert (Sara) Cirilli, Joe Cirilli, Jordan (Sheri) Lee, Peyton (Amelia) Lee, Craig Kuski and Jenna Schulz, and Maggie (Matthew) Daniels.

He will be missed by many, including longtime family friends Tammy and Mike Mueller, and their children, Austin and Dominick Mueller; neighbors Chuck Gross and Amie Steinmetz, Austin Queen, Jordan Steinmetz, Russell and Melissa Loka, Kevin and Karen Young, and Kim Bowman and children.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home in Rhinelander. Another short visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 26 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, which will be followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Nativity of Our Lord Parish Catholic Cemetery on Lincoln Street.
