White claims B-Mod main at Eagle River

Hometown driver Dustin White fought off a stiff challenge from Michigan racer Dave Dishaw for several laps but emerged triumphant in the B-Modified feature race at Eagle River Speedway last Tuesday.

The pair swapped the lead for several laps with White opting for the outer groove and Dishaw working the bottom in a clean, but hard-fought race. Dishaw settled for second at the pay window, followed by Ryan Brown, Kory Joliff and rookie Dustin Kangas.

Tomahawk’s Zack Friske swept action in the Late Model class, winning both his heat and the caution-free feature. Travis Friske took second place money, followed by Jason Zdroik, Aaron Reivitis and hometown driver Guy Carley.

Pulaski’s “Hot Rod” Snellenberger sweated out a trio of late caution periods to earn career IMCA stock car win No. 224. Earlier in the night Snellenberger scored a heat win, netting him a clean sweep for the night. Trailing at the checkers were visitor Jesse Krahn, Jason Zdroik, Jonathan Miller and Jason Eisel.

In Street Stock action Mass City, Michigan’s Wyatt McIntyre stayed with the clean sweep theme and did just that in that division winning both his heat and feature race.

Pittsville’s Hoyt Cournoyer ducked underneath Chase Richer on a lap 2 restart to take the lead he never relinquished en route to winning the 600 Micro Sprint feature.

The proverbial broom was also broken out twice for 300 Micro Sprint action as a pair of drivers each scored clean sweeps in the pro and semi-pro classes, respectively. Hometown driver Mason Meier continued his prowess by sweeping the Pro division while visiting driver Nathan Winling Jr. from Escanaba, Mich. pulled off the same feat in the Semi-Pro class.

This week will be yet another doubleheader week of racing with a pair of action packed nights. The track’s Tuesday night show will feature regular, weekly divisions July 16. Then Saturday, July 20, the Badger Midgets from the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association (BMARA) making their first appearance at Eagle River Speedway in more than 40 years.
