7-on-7 football in Rhinelander

Rhinelander hosted the penultimate week of the Northwoods 7-on-7 Passing League Thursday, July 11 at Mike Webster Stadium. The Hodags came away victorious in both games, defeating Northland Pines 19-12 and Lakeland 12-7.

Bo Stott hauled in a 26-yard touchdown pass from Truman Lamers and the subsequent 10-yard conversion try on the Hodags’ third offensive possession to give Rhinelander a 7-6 lead over the Eagles. Dominic Lehmann scored from two and seven yards out on the Hodags’ next two drives to seal the win.

Lehmann caught his third touchdown pass of the night from five yards out to get Rhinelander on the board against Lakeland. After Lamers intercepted a deep fourth-down shot into the end zone on Lakeland’s next possession, he hooked up with Stott for a 40-yard catch and run on third down to give the Hodags the lead for good. 

Lamers finished the night 18 of 35 passing for 279 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions. Stott caught three passes for 92 yards and two scores, Lehmann had four grabs for 26 yards and three scores while Logan Schwinger added five catches for 55 yards.

The Passing League concludes for the summer this coming Thursday at Lakeland.
