ADRC to host workshop on healthy aging

At any age, there are lifestyle habits people can adopt to help maintain or even potentially improve their health. These habits may also help to keep our brains healthy as we age and possibly delay the onset of cognitive decline associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

To help people age well, the Alzheimer’s Association® is offering a workshop entitled Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body: Tips from the Latest Research.

According to a press release, the workshop will cover four areas of lifestyle habits that are associated with healthy aging:

• Cognitive activity.

• Physical health and exercise.

• Diet and nutrition.

• Social engagement.

“In each area, we will discuss what we know, drawing on current research, as well as what we can do — steps to take now to improve or maintain overall health in each area,” the release states. “This program is designed for individuals of any age who are looking for information on ways to age as well as possible.”

The Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body workshop will be held on Tuesday, July 16, at the ADRC of Oneida County (100 Keenan Street) from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

To learn more about this program, or to register (registration is appreciated but not required), contact Julie St. Pierre at (715) 352-4091 or [email protected]. Individuals can also register by reaching out to the Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 Helpline at 1.800.272.3900 or by visiting: https://bit.ly/RHIHealthyLivingJuly20.
