Girls’ basketball: Rhinelander 68, Wausau East 54
The Rhinelander High School girls’ basketball team lead nearly wire-to-wire Monday night as it picked up a 68-54 victory over Wausau East at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium.
The Hodags closed the first half on a 9-0 run over the final 90 seconds to take a 37-21 lead to the break and stretched the lead to as many as 23 in the second half.
Aubryn Clark scored 21 points for Rhinelander to lead all scorers. Lily Treder finished with 19, including 16 in the first half, while Leah Jamison chipped in 10. Geneva Michlig had 14 to lead Wausau East.
Rhinelander (13-5, 7-1 Great Northern) is back home tonight to take on Three Lakes.
