RHS Sports recap: Friday, Jan. 12

All sporting events for Friday, Jan. 12 have been either canceled or postponed due to inclement weather. The majority of the changes came down late Thursday and early Friday, before the School District of Rhinelander dismissed class early and called off after school activities for the evening. Games affected include the following:

• Boys’ basketball at Medford — postponed to Thursday, Feb. 1

• Girls’ basketball vs. Medford — postponed to Monday, Feb. 5

• Boys’ swimming at Appleton North Invite — canceled

• Boys’ hockey at East/Merrill Invite — canceled

Though all of Friday’s RHS sporting events were canceled, the RHS wrestling team did travel down to Valders in preparation for an invitational on Saturday that is still on as scheduled. Additionally, though the East/Merrill Invite had been canceled, RHS activities director Brian Paulson was trying to secure a make-up game on Saturday for the Hodag hockey team. Those plans had not been finalized as of this posting.
