Leonard Walter Bauman Sr.
Leonard Walter Bauman Sr., 92, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, passed away on December 23, 2023 in Cape Girardeaui.
He was born October 21, 1931, in Racine, son of Otto A. Bauman, a locksmith and Marian (Clugg) Bauman, a homemaker and mother of seven.
Leonard attended school in Wisconsin. He joined the Army on November 16, 1950 and served as an Aviation Engineer until his honorable discharge on November 15, 1953.
Leonard's career was a television technician and broadcast engineer while living in Wisconsin.
He loved ham radio, playing and singing music, gardening, and most importantly spending time with family and friends.
He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and Ham Radio Club.
Surviving are his son, Leonard W. Bauman Jr. of Florida, daughters, Barbara J. DeMartino of Florida, Carrie (Rich) Schubert of Crystal City, Mo., Sharon A. Pickard of Festus, Mo.; brother, Roy Bauman of Rhinelander, sister, Marian Moore of Hawaii; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, in addition to numerous other loving family members and friends.
Leonard was preceded in death by his father, Otto A. Bauman, mother, Marian (Clugg) Bauman, wife, Barbara Mae (Aubert) Bauman, daughter, Marsha J. Sheets; brothers, Otto Bauman, Earl Bauman; sisters, Alice Winchell, Florence McDonald.
Services are private.
