One injured in motorcycle vs. car crash

One person was injured over the holiday weekend when the motorcycle they were operating collided with a vehicle on State Highway 47 last Friday afternoon, the Oneida County sheriff’s department reports.
According to a press release issued by sheriff’s captain Tyler Young, a call came in approximately 4:30 p.m. Dec. 29 reporting an accident near the intersection of Highway 47 and Grills Landing Road, Town of Newbold.
Upon law enforcement arrival, it was determined that a motorcycle was southbound on Highway 47 and a northbound vehicle was making a left turn into a private driveway, the release states. As a result the southbound motorcycle struck the side of the northbound Ford Explorer.
The operator of the motorcycle was flown to Aspirus Wausau Hospital by Sprit Helicopter from the scene, the release states. The operator of the Ford Explorer did not sustain any injuries.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is conducting a reconstruction of the accident.
The Oneida County sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Newbold Fire Department and First Responders, the Rhinelander Fire Department, Oneida County Ambulance, and the Rhinelander Police Department.
