The Rhinelander High School powerlifting club hosted the Hodag Classic Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium.

Forty athletes competed for Rhinelander in the events with the following athletes taking first in their respective weight classes: Kali Skubal, Kara Monk, Amos Bergman, Caden Sieker, Landon Webster and Adam Myers. 

It was the final meet of the regular season for the Hodags. The following lifters qualified for the Powerlifting America state meet and/or the USA Powerlifting state meet: Jacob Gunither, Victory Schreiber, Paul VanCamp, Zach Germain, Myles Eagleson, Myers, Sam Balge, Emma Deede, Nicole Long, Lexi Bishop, Sam Caselton and Josh Haselton. The state meets take place March 1-3 in Appleton.
