Beryl Marie Zastrow

Beryl Marie Zastrow, age 95, of Rhinelander, died on February 14, 2024 at the Country Terrace in Rhinelander. She was born on July 21, 1928, in Rhinelander, the daughter of Emil and Jessie (Miller) Zettler. She attended schools in Rhinelander graduating from the Rhinelander High School in 1946. She married Edmund Zastrow on July 18, 1953 in Rhinelander and they were blessed with over 54 years of marriage.

During her lifetime Beryl had various employment in the Rhinelander area. She worked as a store clerk, homemaker, a driver for those that were homebound and as a cake decorator for Trig’s Bakery. She enjoyed bowling, reading, doing puzzles, knitting, traveling, bird watching and feeding the wildlife around her home.

Beryl had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior. She was a lifelong member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rhinelander where she was baptized, confirmed and married.

Beryl is survived by her daughters Rene (Daryl) Ison and Heidi (Jim) Nordstrom, her sons Lee (Maria) Zastrow, Neal (Sara) Zastrow, Dale Zastrow and Dana Zastrow, her 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, her great-great-grandchild, her sisters Nancy Robinson and Mona (Marvin) Israel, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Edmund Zastrow on October 20, 2007, her son Gary, her sisters Carol Zastrow and Theda Zettler and her brothers Clifford and Marvin.

Beryl's family would like to thank the staff of County Terrace for the wonderful care that they gave their Mom.

Visitation for Beryl will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 9 to 11 a.m. with funeral services following at 11 a.m., all at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Reverend Karl Schultz will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in Beryl's name.
