Carol Joyce Marshall
Carol Joyce (Cooke) Marshall, 91, of Altoona, died, on Thursday morning, Feb. 8, 2024.
Carol was born in Lodi to John and Hazelle Cooke. She lived in Lodi until her marriage to Glenn Marshall. They were blessed with six children, 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. They lived in Rhinelander until moving to Wisconsin Rapids in 1981. Carol moved to Altoona in 2016 to be closer to her children.
Carol worked in retail. While Carol enjoyed working with customers and the camaraderie of her co-workers, her roles as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother were what she valued most.
Carol is survived by two sons and two daughters: Daniel (children, Cassandra, Dustin, Courtney) of Lyndon Station, Gregory (Bridget; children, Morgan, Alexis) of Menomonie, Deborah (Jeffrey) Hansen of Eau Claire, Elizabeth (Erik) Larsen (children, Megan, Marcus) of Eau Claire, daughter in-law Kathleen (children, Jared, Adam, Kai) of Oshkosh and grandsons, Michael of Eau Claire and Derek of Rhinelander.
Carol is also survived by her nine great-grandchildren; sisters: Donna Vogts of DeForest, and Diane Cooke of Mazomanie; brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Carolyn Marshall of Hugo, Minnesota, sisters-in-law, Barbara Fahmie of Plantation, Florida, and Evelyn Cooke, of Mazomanie, as well as many treasured nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn; sons Stephen and Christopher; parents; brothers, Stanley, Buel, and Darrell; sister Marilyn (Don) Havlik; sister-in-law Gayle Atkinson, brother-in-law William Marshall and brother-in-law Dave Vogts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests and would appreciate donations be made to the staff appreciation fund at the Classic on Hillcrest Greens, 2455 Sawgrass Place, Altoona, Wisconsin, 54720. The visitation for Carol will take place on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the noon funeral service. Chaplain John Uhlarik will officiate. Immediately following the service, there will be a procession to Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery for the committal service.
Following the committal service, a luncheon will be held in the banquet room of the Hildebrand Funeral Home.
