4-H Youth Poultry Club starting in March
Youth in grades 3-12 (public/private/homeschool) from Oneida and Forest counties are invited to participate in a newly formed Youth Poultry Club. Participants will learn the basics of selecting, raising, and showing birds, such as chickens and ducks, and will have an opportunity to participate in a 4-H poultry fun show, according to a UW-Extension press release.
The registration deadline is Sunday, Feb. 18. Participants are asked to attend all three sessions, which will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturdays on March 2, April 20, and May 4, at the Monico Town Hall, 2333 Forrest St., Monico. A fun show will be planned for some time in the summer.
No experience is necessary and participants do not have to have a bird to participate. Participants must enroll in 4-H to participate, which is free to join. Once participants join 4-H, the cost to participate in Youth Poultry Club is $20/person.
Those interested in joining 4-H, or who would like more information should go to https://oneida.extension.wisc.edu or call 715-365-2750.
Accommodations and language access can be requested to UW-Extension Oneida County by the registration deadline.
