Arthur “Art” LeRoy Frisque

Our dear father, Arthur “Art” LeRoy Frisque, 84, of Rhinelander, passed away at home on February 1, 2024, with family at his side, under the care of Senior Hearts Home Care and Compassus Hospice Care.

Art was born in Crystal Falls, Michigan on July 8, 1939, to Gregory and Charlotte (Colony) Frisque.

Art’s family moved to Rhinelander in 1951 when he was 12 years old. He attended Rhinelander schools and graduated from Rhinelander Union High School in 1957.

Art was united in marriage to Shirley (Ritchie) in 1964. They were married for over 59 years and had five wonderful children, Theresa (Roger) James, Todd (Gena Peter) Frisque, Tina Tessmann, Tiffany Frisque and Tanya (Marc) Tischendorf.

Art worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company from 1965-1975 and Daniels Packaging/Printpack from 1975 until his retirement in 2001. He also served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard for 20 years and later retired in 1999. During his enlistment, he had the opportunity to travel to Germany and Panama. Art was proud to have served his country and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his fellow veterans and volunteering his help for their fundraisers.

When not working, he spent many hours on body repair and painting cars for friends. During his retirement, he took pleasure in helping out his neighbors and friends with anything and everything and enjoyed fishing with his friend Denny. He loved spending time with his family and watching his grandsons develop into young men.

Art was predeceased by his wife Shirley; his parents; siblings, Louise Frisque, Floyd Frisque, Kenneth Frisque and Catherine Pollack and his nephew Greg Pollack. He is survived by his children; grandsons, Brady and Reese Frisque and Zaine and Reid Tischendorf, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A special thank you to Sam Engstrom and Senior Hearts Home Care for lovingly caring for Dad. He truly enjoyed his visits with you.

The visitation for Art will take place on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 10 a.m. until noon with a service following, at Hildebrand Funeral Home. Immediately following the service, there will be a procession to Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery for the committal service with military honors conducted by the Northwoods Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, friends and family are encouraged to donate to the Northwoods Honor Guard.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists, 24 E. Davenport Street, Rhinelander, WI, 54501, 715-365-4343. Everyone is invited to sign the guestbook or leave online condolences at www.hildebrandrussfh.com.
