Barbara Mary Wisnewski

Barbara Mary Wisnewski, 83, of Rhinelander, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, at Rennes Health & Rehab and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice.

Barbara was born in Bessemer, Michigan on May 20, 1941, to Edward T. and Constance H. (Scholz) Kofford. She was a 1959 graduate of Rhinelander High School. Barb then attended a Beauty College in Wausau and had been a Beautician for many years. She was united in marriage to Elmer Wisnewski in 1961. The couple has lived in Rhinelander since the mid 1970s and were blessed with three children. 

Barb enjoyed baking and cooking, and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren.

She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Elmer, three children, Steve Wisnewski, of Rhinelander, Dan Wisnewski, of Rhinelander, and Sarah Haugen of Eagle River, seven grandchildren, Clayton, Jessica, Daniel, Jenny, Matthew, Andrew, and Austin, six great-grandchildren, Lexi, Peyton, Taylor, Zachary, Boone, and Everette. Also surviving are other relatives and friends.

The Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, located at 125 E. King Street, Rhinelander. Fr. Chris Kemp will officiate.

Immediately following the mass there will be a procession to Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery for the Committal Service.

The Wisnewski family would like to thank Sandy Habel for the friendship, and love that you gave to Barb, especially visiting her many times a week while she was at Rennes Health & Rehab.
