Members of the United Steel Workers Local 2-15 and non-union employees at Ahlstrom’s Rhinelander mill recently pledged $26,911.88 in contributions to the Northwoods United Way.

Funds were raised through the Rhinelander mill’s annual workplace campaign and matching funds from Ahlstrom.

“United Way provides essential funding to local programs that stay in the Northwoods,” plant manager Dan McGreaham said in a press release. “For a decade we have partnered with United Way and each year our employees make an impact in our communities through their generous contributions,” McGreaham added.

Northwoods United Way supports health and human service agencies and their programs in Forest, Oneida, and Vilas counties. Contributions enable the organization to ensure that more individuals and families can access the resources they need.

This year the company recognized its top contributor, Brian Hollands, with a plaque.

“We appreciate everyone who contributed, and we’re proud to acknowledge Brian as the top contributor in this year’s campaign,” said McGreaham. “We thank Brian for his generous donation, which exemplifies the impact charitable giving can have in our community,” McGreaham added.
