RHS Sports recap: Saturday, Dec. 8
Boys’ hockey: Oshkosh 2, Rhinelander 0
The Rhinelander High School boys’ hockey team was shutout by Oshkosh 2-0 Saturday at the Rhinelander Ice Arena.
Oshkosh scored late in the first period and added an empty-net goal with 33 seconds left in the third. Oshkosh outshot Rhinelander 37-32. Asher Rivord made 35 saves in the loss.
Rhinelander (1-3-0, 0-1-0-0 Great Northern) hosts Tomahawk Thursday at the RIA.
Wrestling: Rhinelander 10th/18, John Roberts Invite
The Rhinelander High School boys’ wrestling team finished 10th out of 18 team Saturday in the season-opening John Roberts Invite in Antigo.
Reid Schultz was the highest finisher for the Hodags, finishing second in the 285-pound weight class. Logan Schwinger (190) took fifth for Rhinelander, while Ivan Loka (132) and Cyrus Leisure (157) scored sixth-place finishes.
The Hodags will be back in action next Saturday at the Logroller Invite in Crandon.
