RHS Sports recap: Thursday, Aug. 29
Cross country: RHS boys 3rd/10, girls 4th/9, Hodag Invite
The Rhinelander High School cross country team opened the season by finishing in the top half of the field in its home invitational Thursday at RHS. The Hodag boys were third out of 10 qualifying teams while the Hodag girls were fourth out of nine.
Greyson Gremban paced the Hodag boys, finishing fifth overall. He covered the 5-kilometer course in 18 minutes, 7.7 seconds. Sophomore teammate Avrom Barr was right behind him in sixth. Jackson Weinzatl (31st), Brody Kowieski (32nd) and Augustus Porter (46th) rounded out the running order for the team.
Brynn Teter finished seventh overall (23:22.6) to pace the Hodag girls. She was followed by Macy Myers in 15th, Hayley Schiek in 16th, Kara Monk in 22nd and Sophie Miljevich in 24th.
The Hodags return to action Sept. 3 as they take part in the Mosinee Invite at Nine Mile Forest in Wausau.
