A ‘WILD’ Triathlon

Just ducky or a party fowl? The field of swimmers and kayakers didn’t seem to mind a few extra feathered participants for the aquatic portion of the 12th annual Hodag Mini-Triathlon, held Saturday, Aug. 24 at Holiday Acres Resort. Roughly 80 individual participants and six relay teams took part in the race which included a 300-yard swim (or 1/2-mile kayak), an 10-kilometer bike ride and a 5-kilometer run. The event serves as a fundraiser for Wise International Leadership Development (WILD), a Rhinelander-based ministry that fosters youth leadership skills, both locally and internationally.
