RHS Sports recap: Monday, Aug. 26

Girls’ tennis: Rhinelander 1-2, Wausau West Invite

The RHS girls’ tennis team went 1-2 Monday in the first day of the Wausau West Invite. The Hodags defeated Wausau East (6-1) and suffered losses to Wausau West (4-3) and Eau Claire North (7-0).

The Hodags record doubles sweeps against both Wausau teams with the teams of Dawsyn Barkus/Brooke Sisel, Evelyn Sawyer/Maya Patrick and Teagan Turcotte/Willow VanDenHeuvel. Kelsey Winter, Karmen Lopez and JaLyn LaChapelle scored singles wins against Wausau East.

Rhinelander (6-7, 1-0 Great Northern) will conclude the Wausau West Invite on Tuesday.
