PHOTOS: Packers end preseason with win
The Green Bay Packers made their lone home preseason game a memorable one Saturday. The defense forced four turnovers, Sean Clifford and Michael Pratt each threw a touchdown pass in their battle for the No. 2 quarterback spot and the Packers defeated the Ravens 30-7 at Lambeau Field.
The Packers, who sat virtually all of their starters in the preseason finale after holding a joint practice with the Ravens Thursday in Green Bay, scored 24 unanswered points to pull away in the contest.
Pratt hit Bo Melton for an 18-yard score midway through the second quarter before the Packers’ defense took over. Anthony Johnson Jr. scooped up a fumble for a 24-yard touchdown following a strip sack by Arron Mosby. Clifford hit Malik Heath for a 7-yard score on fourth down to open the second half.
In the place kicking battle, Greg Joseph made field goals from 36 and 55 yards and was 1 for 1 on extra points. Anders Carlson made both of his extra points and converted a 54-yard field goal in the first quarter, but missed wide right from 32 yards in the fourth quarter.
The Packers must cut down to its 53-man roster by this afternoon as they prepare for their regular season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles Friday, Sept. 6 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
