Girls’ tennis: Rhinelander 1-2, Bay Port Invite

The Rhinelander High School girls’ tennis team went 1-2 Tuesday in the final day of the Bay Port Invite. The Hodags started the day with a 6-1 loss to New Richmond and a 7-0 loss to De Pere. Rhinelander closed out the day with a 6-1 victory over Menominee, Mich.

Individual match scores from the De Pere and Menominee matches were not available as of the time of this post. Through the team’s first four matches of the event, the Hodags had gotten two wins each from Karmen Lopez at No. 2 singles as well as its Nos. 1 and 2 doubles teams of Dawsyn Barkus/Brooke Sisel and Evelyn Sawyer/Maya Patrick.

Rhinelander (1-5, 0-0 Great Northern) opens conference play at Antigo on Thursday.
