Michael Allen Tromp

Michael Allen Tromp, age 69, of Rhinelander, died on August 6, 2024, at his home. He was born on May 22, 1955, in Rhinelander, the son of Jack and Constance (Ludwig) Tromp.

He attended schools in Rhinelander and graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1973. After graduation he went to University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. He graduated in 1979 with a degree in Wildlife Management.

On April 12, 2007 he married the former Kelly Owens and they shared many wonderful years together.

Michael worked as an insurance adjuster for 23 years and then at American Plastics, and finally at Charter for 15 years before retiring in 2018.

He loved being outdoors fishing and hunting and being with his friends. Michael was a big Wisconsin sports fan, and enjoyed watching the Brewers, Packers, Badgers and Bucks. He was also a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Rhinelander.

Michael is survived by his wife Kelly, his daughter Sarah (Eric) Stabenow, his son Ernest (Jessica) Tromp, stepchildren Joshua Nowlin, Brenda Owens and Jamie (Craig) Wells, his 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his sisters Ann (James) Lawrence and Mary (Gary) Lewandowski, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Northland Memorial Park Cemetery in Rhinelander. You may leave your private condolences for the Tromp family at www.carlsonfh.com.
