Daniel Lee “Dan” Felten

Daniel Lee Felten, 61, of Rhinelander, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side, on Thursday, August 1, 2024.

Dan was born in Marshfield on July 26, 1963, to Charles J. and Beverly M. (Erickson) Vreeland. He was raised in Marshfield until 1974, when the family moved to Rhinelander. Dan was a 1981 graduate of Rhinelander High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines, proudly serving his country from 1981 until 1986. He was employed at Marplex and was currently employed with Felten Sheet Metal as a fabricator. Dan also enjoyed being a bartender at the Who Cares Bar and the Elbo Room. He was united in marriage to LeAnn Vreeland at the Rhinelander Courthouse on September 13, 2019. 

Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Los Angeles Rams, and a good Kesslers and Coke in a beer mug.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, LeAnn, two stepchildren, Alyssa (Robert) Adkins of Crandon, and Caitlin Vreeland-Griffin of Rhinelander, two step-grandchildren, Joycelynn Kuehl and Lilith Adkins; his dad, Charles (Leslie) Felten, of Rhinelander, siblings, Larry Felten of Rhinelander and John Felten of Rhinelander. Also surviving are nieces, one nephew, super nieces, and other relatives and friends. 

Dan is preceded in death by his other dad, Ed Hunstock, brother Tom Felten, mother Beverly Lambert, nephew Michael Felten, and an infant sister, Laurie.

A fundraiser for Dan is scheduled for Friday, August 16, 2024, beginning at 1 p.m. at Da Bar 10 N. Stevens Street.

The visitation for Dan will take place on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Hildebrand Funeral Home, from 1 to 3 p.m. Military honors will take place at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Honors will be conducted by the Northwoods Honor Guard and by two representatives from the United States Marines.
