Joliff nabs B-Mod win at Eagle River

Mass City, Michigan’s Kory Joliff took the lead at the drop of the green and kept the lead the entire race to capture his first B-Mod feature win of the year at Eagle River Speedway last Tuesday night.

Joliff’s sizable lead was wiped out no less than three times by caution flags. But Joliff remained strong on the restarts and kept the win. Dave Dishaw of Ontonagon, Mich. took home runner-up money. Gresham’s Charles Hoffman scored a third place finish in his first-ever visit to Eagle River. Dustin Kangas and Ryan Brown placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

Shawano’s Aaron Reivitis sprinted from his pole position into the lead and crossed the line first in the Late Model feature. However, during a postrace inspection he was disqualified and the win was awarded to second-place finisher Guy Carley of Eagle River.

Defending track champion and hometown driver David Blackberg scored the IMCA Stock Car feature win. The polesitter led every lap en route to victory in the caution-free contest. Sugar Camp’s Hope Eisel also led every lap en route to victory in the Street Stock feature.

Pittsville’s Hoyt Cournoyer dusted the field, winning the 600 Micro Sprint feature by a full straightaway.

Hometown driver Mason Meier kept up his winning streak in the 300 Micro Sprint class as he won his fifth straight feature. Meier earned a clean sweep to boot with his heat win as well in the Pro division. Hometown driver Parker Ewert wone the Semi-Pro 300 Micro Sprint feature.

Racing resumes Tuesday, August 13 and the racing action kicks off at 7 p.m.
