Jenny Joan Hager Graettinger, 94, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Grace Lodge, Rhinelander with her loving family by her side. Jenny was born on October 28, 1929 to Violet (Greer) Kujawski and John Hager in Bluefield, West Virginia. She attended Bluefield College. Before her marriage she worked as an English teacher and later for the United States government in Washington, D.C. There she met Jim Graettinger, a Wisconsin man. They were married in Arlington, Virginia in 1952 and headed to Wausau to raise a family. They later relocated to Tomahawk where they lived until Jim’s death in 2013. Jenny then moved to Rhinelander.

Jenny loved cats, dogs, birds, gardening, and painting. She was an expert seamstress. While in Tomahawk, she was a long-time member of St, Mary Church, the Catholic Women’s Club, and the Tomahawk Civic Club. She was employed at Sacred Heart Hospital for many years and also was a Hospice volunteer.

Jenny is survived by her five daughters: Chris (Jerry) Luedke, Cathy (James) Nunn, Connie Graettinger, Jan (Tony) Zblewski, and Julie (Jim) Graeber; sons: John (Mary) Graettinger and Chuck Graettinger. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Celeste, Jim, Claire, Sarah, Joanne, Rachel, Emma, Susannah, Hailey, Alex and Ely. She is further survived by eight great-grandchildren, Addie, Jameson, Koen, Hannah, Jack, Blake, Calum, Fletcher, and one on the way.

Jenny was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Jim, her parents, and her brother, John Hager.

The family would like to thank the staff of Grace Lodge and Compassus Hospice for the loving care, kindness, and compassion they showed to our mother and entire family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tomahawk. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to time of service at noon.
