Nicolet Players’ performance to benefit NATH
It takes community and financial support to ensure Frederick Place, the local homeless shelter operated by Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing, Inc. (NATH), keeps its doors open for those in unhoused situations.
Through many community partnerships, the vision of NATH exists to provide safe housing and basic needs to families and individuals who are experiencing homelessness, within an atmosphere of encouragement, respect, dignity, and hope; while nurturing and promoting self-sufficiency and independent living.
NATH actively promotes public awareness of homelessness by partnering with northwoods resource agencies and educating the community.
As the organization continues to be committed to ending and preventing homelessness, local musicians and artists have teamed up to showcase their talents for the cause.
The public is invited to join them for an evening at Nicolet College on May 18 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Delightful appetizers, outreach and the artistic talents of The Nicolet Players’, will provide an evening of entertainment, organizers said in a press release.
“Nightfall” directed by Dr. Colette Kaya highlights the talents of our local stage artists, while NATH volunteers will provide information of how to operationally support Frederick Place, the release states.
“Nightfall” is a theatrical adaptation of four of Edgar Allen Poe’s best stories: “The Raven,” “The Fall of the House of the Usher,” “The Pit and the Pendulum” and “The Tell-Tale Heart.”
“These separate stories are woven together with a chilling mix of mystery, death and gothic romance to underscore Poe’s personal struggles as he questions his own sanity,” according to a press release detailing the college’s spring production.
Tickets for the event can be purchased at Frederick Place at 204 W. Frederick Street, Rhinelander or by connecting with one of your local NATH board members. To make a reservation, call 715-369-9777.
Theatre event tickets are $40 each.
