Irene F. Letsch

Irene F. Letsch, age 94, of Rhinelander, died on April 19, 2024 at Rennes Health and Rehab. She was born on Dec. 10, 1929, in Racine, the daughter of Cyril and Clothilde (Vertente) DePelecyn. She attended schools in Racine graduating from the Washington Park High School. After her schooling she married William Letsch on Nov. 27, 1948. He preceded her in death in 2009. They were blessed with 61 years together and their four children.

They lived in Racine where Irene was employed in the Racine school district until they moved to Rhinelander in 1970. In Rhinelander, Irene was employed in the offices of the Rhinelander High School for many years. She loved her work, the people she worked with and especially all of the kids.

She was a cheerleader for her own kids, grandkids and great-grandkids in whatever activity they were in. She lived for attending all of their competitions whatever they may be. Earlier in life she enjoyed golfing and swimming until she developed problems with her sight which restricted what she could do. She will be missed dearly by her family and many friends.

Irene is survived by her daughters Debra (Paul) Rinka and Lori (Craig) Grinde, her son Paul Letsch, her grandchildren Sara (Jeremy) Huhnstock, Katie Rinka, Adam (Heidi) Grinde and Alison (Mark) Hinner and her great-grandchildren Ahna, Logan, Isabella, Beau, Henry and McKenna. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son William and her brothers George and William DePelecyn.

Visitation for Irene will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 9:30 to 11 a.m., with memorial services following at 11 a.m., all at the Carlson Funeral Home. Reverend John Kuziej will be officiating. Interment will be in the Newbold Memorial Cemetery.
