Carol Anne “Mimi” Holcombe, age 87 of Sugar Camp, went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 18, 2024. She was born on Sept. 1, 1936, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Parkin) Ford.
Extraordinary is the only word that comes close to describing Carol, and still it does not do her justice for all the roles she played and the lives she touched.
She is survived by, and proud mother of Mark Holcombe & Tracie (Bradley) Widule; Mimi to Mark (Nicole) Senter, Jessica Czaplinski, Seth (Jessi) Senter, Tara Senter, Sierra (Bridgett) Widule, and Mitchell Widule; Great Mimi to Eva, Evan, Piersson, Toshiana, Coraline, Kent, Augustine, and Holcombe. She is further survived by her three siblings Jim (Bonnie) Ford, Bill (Carole) Ford, and Lois (Bill) Headrick, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, who all fondly knew her as Carol Anne. She was preceded in death by her husband David Holcombe, her parents Theodore and Mary Ford and her baby sister Ruth Elaine.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Eagle River Aspirus Hospital staff during her stay as well as the Compassus Hospice staff for their assistance and guidance as we saw her through to her next journey.
Visitation for Carol will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 9:30 to 11 a.m., with memorial services following at 11 a.m., all at the Calvary Baptist Church in Rhinelander. Reverend Rod Ankrom will be officiating. Interment and graveside services will follow in the Northwoods National Cemetery in Harshaw at 2 p.m. You may leave your private condolences for the Holcombe family at www.carlsonfh.com.
