Boys’ tennis: Rhinelander 2-0, De Pere Invite

The RHS boys’ tennis team won both of its matches Saturday in the final day of the De Pere Invite. The Hodags edged West De Pere 4-3 before sweeping Ashwaubenon 7-0.

John Currie won a match tiebreaker 13-11 at No. 1 singles for the decisive point against West De Pere. The Hodags swept doubles in that dual with the teams of Joey Belanger/Dalton Fritz, Gavin Denis/Dawson Pontell and Aiden Ostermann/Michael Schiek.

Currie, Nick Lesch, Payton McCue and Calvin Loomis were singles winners against Ashwaubenon. Belanger/Fritz, Denis/Pontell and Ostermann/Karter Massey won the doubles.

Rhinelander (8-3, 2-0 Great Northern) travels to Wausau West for a non-conference dual on Tuesday.
