Annual pet calendar contest benefits Oneida County Humane Society
Rhinelander-raised photographer Pam Kipper Gabriel of Pam Gabriel Photography is partnering with the Oneida County Humane Society (OCHS) for the second annual pet calendar contest fundraiser.
The goal is to raise $10,000 for the local humane society, according to a press release announcing the fundraiser.
Pet owners may enter their furry friend in this online contest by submitting a photo along with a $5 entry fee that is donated directly to OCHS to help the rescue continue its efforts.
Entries and votes will be accepted until May 20 and will be used to help determine the top 13 grand prize winners that will be photographed by Pam Gabriel Photography during a professional on-location photography session to capture their image for the 2025 OCHS pet calendar.
The highest vote-getter will be featured on the coveted cover spot.
A reserve-a-grid-space option for $10 is also available for those who wish to purchase an empty grid space and guarantee their pet a small square in the 2025 calendar.
In 2023, this fundraiser raised more than $7,000 via entries, votes, and subsequent calendar sales. This year’s calendar contest fundraising goal is set at $10,000, all of which will benefit OCHS and help them cover medical costs for the many animals they assist. These costs include things such as heartworm treatments/medications, expenses in caring for injured pets, and transporting of animals to facilities for treatment.
“We are so thankful to have several area businesses contributing to our second annual contest with some wonderful mini contest prizes along with others financially sponsoring a calendar month,” said Gabriel. “The community support for OCHS and our calendar contest is a vital component that encourages entrants to keep campaigning for their pet and is what will hopefully help us grow this contest to a new level over the years. It really brings an exciting energy into this huge virtual fundraiser!”
Copies of the 2025 Oneida County Humane Society pet calendar will be available to order online in mid-October 2025 once Gabriel completes photographing all 13 grand prize winners.
