Girls’ soccer: Rhinelander 2, Washburn 0

A pair of goals in the final 22 minutes was the difference Friday night as the RHS girls’ soccer team knocked off Washburn 2-0 in a non-conference contest at Mike Webster Stadium.

Morgan Van Zile cashed in on a breakaway exactly 58 minutes into the match to break a scoreless deadlock and Sophie Miljevich added an insurance goal off a free kick in the 66th minute. 

Rhinelander outshot Washburn 22-6 in the match. Mya Krouze made four saves in the shutout.

Rhinelander (2-0-0, 0-0-0-0 Great Northern) hosts Waupaca on Tuesday.
