JV football

The Rhinelander High School JV football team defeated Mosinee 20-14 Monday, Sept. 25 at Mike Webster Stadium. Myles Eagleson ran for a pair of touchdowns. Kade Tessmann added a touchdown run and also had a key sack fumble down the stretch to help secure the win for the Hodags.

Middle school swim

The James Williams Middle School girls’ swim team held its last home meet of the season, taking on Antigo in a dual meet at the Heck Family Community Pool Tuesday, Sept. 26. The Hodags took six of the 10 events to claim the dual.

JV3 volleyball

Rhinelander held a JV3 volleyball quad in the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium Monday, Sept. 25.

JWMS cross country

The JWMS took part in the Merrill Invite Tuesday, Sept. 26. The Hodag girls placed five runners in the top 11 — Teagan Clark (4th), Noella Tulowitzky (5th), Quinn Steinbrink (6th), Harmony Gomez (7th) and Helen Beuning (11th) — to win the meet. The Hodag boys took second, edging Crandon for the runner-up spot. Wyatt Crowell (3rd), Michael Brunette (6th), Chasin Wallmow (17th), Juan Diego Grage (26th) and Max Cahee (31st) made up the Hodags’ top five.
