The Wabeno Area Players are working very diligently on their October production of the hilarious comedy, “Four Old Broads.”

The show, which is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 6, is sure to cause uncontrollable laughter and enjoyment, according to a press release announcing the production.

“The daily grind of bingo and craft activities is not exactly how the spirited seniors Beatrice, Eaddy, Imogene and Maude picture their days. In fact, retired burlesque showgirl Beatrice (Margi Diny) is in desperate need of a vacation. A Sassy Seniors Caribbean Cruise may be just the ticket if she can convince her best friend Eaddy (Linda Harter) to stop praying and go with her. But strange things have been happening at Magnolia Place Assisted Living since Nurse Pat Jones (Lori Mattern) and her assistant Ruby Sue (Maline Enders) began working there. The new resident Imogene (Kim Odekirk) is losing her memory and Maude (Carol Bartlein) seems obsessed with planning her own funeral. Meanwhile, Sam (RJ Chickey), a retired Elvis impersonator, is trying to seduce every woman in the building. The action heats up as the sassy golden girls stumble into a heap of trouble as they try to crack a dangerous mystery. Can they solve the mystery and catch the wrongdoers before the ship sets sail? Their escapades result in waves of laughter and prove that these ‘Four Old Broads’ aren’t your typical grandmothers!”

The show is under the direction of Carol Bartlein. Clare Huisman is assistant director. The technical director is RJ Chickey. Lighting technicians are Jan Volk and Vicki Delaski.

Sound technicians are Laure Haak and Bob Brown. Set design is by Dave Zuleger. Set construction is by John Harter, Sue Ferguson and Tim Barthel. Stage manager is Jessica Maass. Costuming is by Wendy Richards. Volunteer coordinator is Linda Zuleger.
