The James Williams Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade football teams took on Antigo at Mike Webster Stadium Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Middle school cross country
The James Williams Middle School cross country team competed in two more invites over the last eight days.
The team took part in the Junior Smiley Invitational in Wausau Sept. 14. The Hodags girls were eighth of nine and the Hodag boys were ninth of nine in Division 1, which was comprised mainly of Wisconsin Valley Conference programs.
Teagan Clark paced the Hodag girls in 12th place (14 minutes, 23 seconds), followed by Quinn Stinebrink in 29th, Noella Tulowitzky in 41st, Noelle Mayo in 54th, Olivia Eades in 64th, Harmony Gomez in 70th and Natalie Dellenbach in 72nd.
Michael Brunette was 32nd in the D1 boys’ race (13:55). Wyatt Crowell was 62nd, Juan Diego Grage was 93rd, Max Cahee took 100th, Jack Congdon was 115th, Ryder Clark was 145th and Tucker Sadak was 161st.
On Sept.18, the Hodags traveled to Medford for the GNC Invitational meet, which included the majority of middle schools within the conference. The Hodag girls were runners up on the day while the Hodag boys’ took third.
Clark (third, 14:19) and Tulowitzky (eighth, 14:55) finished inside the top 10 and made the podium in the girls’ race. Crowell (ninth, 14:21) made the podium in the boys’ race. Full results were not available as of press time.
