School district announces open houses tied to potential facility projects at JWMS, RHS

The School District of Rhinelander is hosting two Open House events to share information about potential facility projects at the middle school and the high school.

The dates and locations are as follows:

Wednesday, Sept. 27, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at James Williams Middle School 

Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Rhinelander High School

 Both meetings will consist of the following:

 6 p.m. - Welcome and information

 6:30 p.m. - Tour of facilities and opportunity to speak with staff and ask questions.

“ In our region, we are seeing an increased need for workers in the trades, manufacturing, and service industries,” district officials said in a press release announcing the open houses. “Unfortunately, we lack the space and equipment to properly train our middle and high school students in these fields. To help develop a plan, the School District of Rhinelander has been working closely with local business partners. The goal of the next phase of the facility master plan is to update and expand our technical education classrooms and labs and address a few other building issues. This will increase the number of students who can take these courses and better prepare them for careers and life after high school.”

District voters are set to receive surveys in the mail this week with more information related to this project.
