Timothy David Kurilla, 76, of the Town of Crescent, passed away on Thursday morning, August 31, 2023, at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital.
Tim was born in Rhinelander on March 16, 1947, to George and Evelyn (Skowern) Kurilla. Raised in Rhinelander, Tim graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1965. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1970.
He was employed as a baker, auto mechanic, and worked on the family farm. He began his employment at Printpack in 1981, retiring in 2010.
He was a proud donor to the D.A.V.
Tim enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with the family.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings, John (Deb) Kurilla of Wisconsin Rapids, Kay (Robert) Walkowski of Monico, and Jeff Kurilla of Rhinelander. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Kenneth (Edna) Kurilla, Thomas (Doris) Kurilla, and two sisters, Barbara (Douglas) Johnson, Margaret Kurilla, and by one nephew, Jeremy Kurilla.
Inurnment and military honors will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Northwoods National Cemetery, located at 4520 Lakewood Road, Harshaw.
The committal service will be conducted by Thomas Kniewel and military honors will be conducted by the Northwood’s Honor Guard and two representatives from the United States Navy.
A Celebration of Tim’s Life will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the Crescent Town Hall, located at 3231 Golf Course Road, Rhinelander beginning at 11 a.m.
