Pamela J. Janssen, age 60, of Rhinelander, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at her home under the care of her family and Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice. She was born in Park Falls to the late Donald and Joan (McKuen) Herbst.
Pam graduated from the Park Falls High School. After graduation, she moved throughout the state and later attended the Northcentral Technical College in Wausau, receiving her associate’s degree in surgical technology. Pam moved to Rhinelander where she met Alan and they were married on April 4, 2000. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as a surgical technician for some time and later was employed at Marshfield Clinic for many years.
Pam had numerous hobbies which included reading, calligraphy, and crocheting. She enjoyed the outdoors bicycling and boating, loved to travel, and was a talented baker. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and loved keeping busy and supporting all of the activities they were involved in.
Pam is survived by her husband, Alan Janssen; her son, Joe Watkins, III; her daughters, Jenni Watkins and Jaylen Janssen; her stepchildren, Joel Janssen, Nick Janssen, and Alina Janssen; and her sisters, Karrie Brantner and Melinda Gustavson.
She is further survived by seven grandchildren.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Joan; and her brother, John Herbst.
Funeral services for Pamela Janssen will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Rhinelander, at 11 a.m. Pastor Kari Vadis will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11.
Memorials are appreciated to the Generations Academy in Eau Claire, and can be given directly to the family. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory of Tomahawk is assisting the family.
