Calvin Junior Burris

Calvin Junior Burris 73 years of age, Rhinelander, passed Oct. 12, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and daughter and his beloved dogs. He was born on Nov. 17, 1949, in Marmaduke, Ark., to Ross and Winnie Burris (Fultz).

Calvin is survived by his wife Sandra, his daughter Dawn Vieaux (Rhinelander), his amazing grandchildren Danielle (Jacob “Frosty”) Froseth whom he thought of as another grandson, and Cooper Vieaux, his adventure partner; his beloved great-grandchildren Andrew and Graycen Froseth whom he was so happy to spend time with; along with his brother from another mother Kenneth Moore (Petersburg, Va.) many nieces, nephews, and way too many friends to list.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son Daniel Ross Burris (Danny), his parents Ross and Winnie Burris, his six sisters and one brother, his in-laws whom he thought of as parents Daniel and Doris Marah, and many Army buddies and Police brothers in blue.

Calvin enjoyed not being called Calvin. To most he was Junior or Dad. To know him was to always share a story, sometimes very tall. He always had a kind word and would literally give you the shirt off his back even if he didn't have one to replace it. He loved his dogs, his birds, his guns, and most of all his Harley and his Harley riding comrades. He taught most of his family to shoot, fish, and survive in the woods.

To all of the people he touched please know that you touched him and he thought the world of you. If he called you his friend he meant it and you were a huge part of him. He will live on through all of us!

There will be no formal funeral. Instead the family will be hosting a memorial Harley ride (all vehicles welcome) and a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, you may donate in his name to BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse), VAF (Veteran's Assistance Foundation), or Never Forgotten Honor Flight, Inc.
