Carl David Kuczmarski, age 92, of the Town of Starks, died on November 20, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on the Packard Farm in the Town of Stella on May 7, 1931, the son of Emil and Betty (Fojut) Kuczmarski. Carl attended schools in Starks and then graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1949.
After his schooling Carl went to work for the Rhinelander Paper Company for a couple of years before he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served four years in the Air Force and upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander and his job at the Paper Mill. He was employed by the Mill for over 37 years, retiring in April of 1993. Carl was a hard worker his entire life. Besides his employment at the Paper Mill, he also worked on the family farm in Starks, raised ginseng, had two mail routes that he drove to Milwaukee and Green Bay and also sold and trucked potatoes.
Carl married the love of his life, Joanne Zembinski, on June 7, 1958 in Three Lakes, and God blessed them with over 65 years of marriage.
In his spare time Carl enjoyed hunting, camping and going to the casino. He was a member of the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church.
Carl is survived by his wife, Joanne, his daughter Dawn (Howard) Kuczmarski, his son Greg (Colleen) Kuczmarski, his granddaughters Megan (Andre) and Kelsey (Jim), his great-grandchildren Madelyn, Marley, Landon and Olivia, his sisters, Betty Kopp, Charmaine (Terry) Kuczmarski, Barbara Day and Ramona Kuczmarski, his brother John (Sunnie) Kuczmarski, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Diane, his sister Joyce Tiesling, his brothers Emil Jr., Robert, Donald, Richard and Conrad and his parents.
Visitation for Carl will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023 from 9 to 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 a.m., all at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church.
