Kirsten M. Larsen

Kirsten M. Larsen, age 41, died unexpectedly in her sleep of natural causes on November 13, 2023, in Rhinelander.

She was born on Aug. 26, 1982, in Rhinelander, the daughter of Kent Larsen and Becky Corey. She attended schools in Rhinelander, graduating from Rhinelander High School in 2000. Kirsten received her Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources and Energy Sustainability from Arizona State University in 2008 and attended the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy in 2013.

Kirsten moved to Jackson, Wy. where she seasonally worked for the National Park Service at the Grand Teton National Park as a law enforcement ranger, then as a deputy at the Teton County Sheriff’s Office and a fraud analyst at the Teton County Sherrif’s Department from 2011-2020. She then moved to Kettle Falls, Wash. where she was a para-educator for Inchelium Tribe before she moved back to Rhinelander in 2022.

Kirsten loved hiking, fishing, kayaking, camping, running, and snuggling with her dog (Bear). She loved hanging out with friends and family having barbeques and campfires.

She is survived by her mother Becky Corey, her stepfather Carl Corey, her father Kent Larsen, her brother Kris Larsen and his daughter Anetta, her stepsister Cristi (Dan) Corey-Luse and their daughter Alexia, her step-sister Jennie Corey-Heinrich, and her former spouse Keith O’Toole. As well as friend Rob Miller, his daughter Ariana, and their dog Elenor Rosevelt.

Visitation for Kirsten will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023 from 9 to 11 a.m., with memorial services following at 11 a.m., all at the Carlson Funeral Home. The Reverend Myles Alexander will be officiating.
