Northwoods School of Dance to present ‘The Nutcracker’ Dec. 9

On Saturday, Dec. 9, the Northwoods School of Dance, along with the non-profit Dance Northwoods group, will perform their interpretation of “The Nutcracker” in the John and Dori Brown Performing Arts Center at Rhinelander High School. The two shows are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

“The dancers have been rehearsing and are excited to revisit this classic Christmas story,” artistic director Karen Cook said in a press release. “In addition to “The Nutcracker,” Jazz, Tap, Lyrical and Hip/Hop dancers aged 3-22 will open the show with holiday favorites.”

Taylor Pitlik, Miriah Mannikko and Tanya Taylor, along with Cook and assistant director Jessie Phelps, have been choreographing pieces for these two shows.

Tickets will be sold at the door prior to each show. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children age 3 and under are admitted free.
