Newbold: ‘Where nature and tranquility meet’

With the town’s new community center nearly finished, the Newbold Town Board of Supervisors has decided to create a new slogan and logo to go with it.

While there will be more discussion on the logo at the board’s next meeting, particularly concerning certain aspects like color and shapes, the new slogan was unanimously approved during the Oct. 26 board meeting. 

The new slogan is Newbold: “Where nature and tranquility meet.”

The logo will be a circular shape with the word Newbold in the middle. 

The slogan will wrap around the bottom of it, with water on the bottom half of the circle and pines sitting above it on shore. 

A radiant sun fills the top half of the logo. 

Town chairman Dan Hess said it will be released for publication once the board agrees on a final version. 

Town supervisor Petra Pietrzak said she doesn’t have much of a background in graphic design, but has been using design software Canva to create the image.

She told The Lakeland Times the process of choosing a new town logo and slogan has been a very enjoyable.

Other matters

In other business Oct. 26, the board also approved:

• New rear tires for one of the town’s plow trucks at a price not to exceed $4,000.

• New cabinets for the community center not to exceed $3,000.

• Revisions to the town’s public works employee handbook.
