Joan Kucharski

Joan Kucharski, age 87, of Rhinelander, died on October 23, 2023, in Denton, Texas.

She was born on June 17, 1936, in Rhinelander, the daughter of Harmon and Faye (Mattoon) Manning.

Joan's mother Faye passed when Joan was just a small child and God then brought Jane Manning into her life who then raised Joan as one of her own. 

Joan attended schools in Rhinelander and graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1954. 

After her schooling she went to work for the 1st National Bank, later Associated Bank, from 1954 to 1994. She retired as a Senior Vice President. 

Outside of her profession, Joan volunteered with the James Beck Cancer Center and the St. Mary's Hospital and she served as President of the American Cancer Society in the Rhinelander area.

She was a member of the Rhinelander Rotary Club and a member of the Rhinelander Country Club since 1980. 

She enjoyed bowling, playing golf, Mahjong and Bridge and dancing. She and John enjoyed traveling with friends for bowling and golf and they looked forward for the last 26 years to their pilgrimage to their home in Tucson/Green Valley, Arizona for the winter. 

Joan is survived by her husband John, her children Scott (Nora) Pecor, Jamie (Denise) Pecor, Tricia Pecor, Lynda (Norbert) Oleinik, Steve (Tracey) Kucharski, Kathy (John) LePrevost and Cindy (Glenn) Watson, her 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, her siblings Lollie (Jack) Perlberg, Emmy (Denny) Nitzel, Jennifer Manning and Sara (Jim) Rice, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Penny Krouze. 

Visitation for Joan will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at noon, all at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. 

Father Chris Kemp will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery.
