These community and business leaders participated in monthly day-long activities September through May, and completed three community projects.
"The goal of Leadership Oneida County is to develop a sense of commitment to being a leader in our community," steering committee member Lauren Sackett said in a press release announcing the newest graduating class. "Participants learn that leadership takes many forms, and that in Oneida County there are opportunities in many areas of interest - everybody says they learned at least one thing they didn't know Oneida County had to offer."
In addition to the graduating class, the Leadership Oneida County program announced two award winners. The Outstanding Alumni award recognizes Leadership Oneida County alumni who are continuing to develop their leadership presence in the county and who have used their experiences in the program to further their service to the county. The 2023 Outstanding Alumni award was presented to 2016 LOC graduate Nancy Sattler.
The Mel Davidson Leadership award recognizes any person in Oneida County that shows outstanding leadership and service within the County - nominees do not necessarily have to have previous history with the Leadership Oneida County program. The 2023 Mel Davidson Leadership Award was awarded to Robyn Farley.
Leadership Oneida County is a nine-month program that cultivates and prepares emerging leaders in Oneida County. Leadership Oneida County creates an awareness of services and organizations within the county, and reinforces an individual's call to civic responsibility and citizen involvement.
