She was born on July 12, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, to Earl and Thelma (Shafer) Bleimehl. The family moved to Rhinelander in the 1940s and Evelyn graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1947. She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were older and then went to work as a receptionist for the Warner S. Bump Clinic of Rhinelander, retiring in 1980.
Evelyn enjoyed being with her family, golfing, bus trips to the casinos with her friends, lunches with her sister, and fishing from her home on the water.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter Lynn (Scott) Woodford of Rhinelander, her son Rob Van Gorder of Bodega, Calif., her granddaughter Amanda Woodford, her foster daughter Jeryl (Jim) Perenich, grandchildren Marna (Ken) Winnicki and Matthew Perenich, other family members and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother James Bleimehl and her sister Mary Lou Stenstrom.
