Rhinelander students competed in various business-related events including Accounting, Marketing, and Personal Finance, all of which required taking a 100 question test, as well as participating in a leadership academy, according to a school district press release. In addition to competing, students attended workshops, took tours of prominent Green Bay businesses, and met other students from across the state.
For each event, the top four places qualify an individual or team for Nationals. For Rhinelander, Jayson Fairfield placed 3rd in Marketing and Kate Ripple took 4th in Introduction to Financial Math. Also, recognized were Eva Hetland, who took 5th place in Public Speaking, and Aiden Ostermann who took 8th place in Personal Finance.
Rhinelander was also recognized for its community service efforts based on the amount of time and number of members who have helped complete several projects throughout the year, especially Trick or Can, Fall Fest, Santa Letters, and Jeans For Teens. For their efforts Rhinelander placed second in Community Service.
The two students who qualified have the opportunity to go to Atlanta, Ga from June 26-July 1 to compete against students from all 50 states.
