His love for farming was evident even after his retirement, as he took great pride in keeping one of the nicest yards in Stella. He kept an immaculate lawn that rivaled the best golf courses and had picturesque flower gardens and bountiful vegetable gardens that supplied family and friends with a variety of produce including potatoes, beans, onions, beets, carrots, and many kinds of pumpkins and gourds. His love for the outdoors was further seen through his enjoyment of hunting and fishing. He appreciated the camaraderie of his deer hunting group, in which he played an integral part throughout the years serving meals to hungry hunters, heading up deer drives, and providing a central hub for everyone to swap stories and adventures.
Richard was blessed to spend the last 34 years of his life married to his wife Beverly (Spittlemeister) Kuczmarski. Together they enjoyed the companionship of their pets (especially their collies), taking drives to look at wildlife and get dinner at their favorite restaurants, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Richard loved having his family over, cooking them meals with his seven secret spices and persistently beating them all in games of schmier. He was the uncle, grandpa, great-grandpa who magically procured candy and juice boxes to the delight of all the kids in the family. He was a humorous and kind man with a big heart, easily making friends everywhere he went. He looked forward to visiting with all his friends, new and old.
Dick is survived by his wife Beverly, his daughters Gina Erdman and Brenda (Mark) Rabida, his son Eric "Rick" (Catherine) Kuczmarski, his five grandchildren Ericka (Tim) Knoeck, Kayla (Andrew) Fish, Alicia (Phil) Davister, Alison (Michael) Waldner and Annicka (Richard Dauphinais) Rabida; nine great-grandchildren Ella, Aidan, Sawyer, Lucas, Dylan, Wyatt, Henry, Lillian and Jack; his sisters Betty Koop, Charmaine (Terry) Kuczmarski, Barbara Day and Ramona Kuczmarski, his brothers Carl (Joanne) Kuczmarski and John (Sunny) Kuczmarski, his stepdaughter Donna Leavitt, his stepson David (Joyce) Leavitt, his step-granddaughter Danyelle (Kyle) Czys, his step-great-granddaughter Sophia, many nieces and nephews, other family and many friends.
