RHS sports recap: Wednesday, May 10
The RHS baseball team broke a 4-all tie in a three-run sixth inning and then held on to defeat D.C. Everest 7-6 Wednesday in a non-conference game in Weston.
Barak Rappley and AJ Turek collected RBI singles in the go-ahead inning and Max Ratty added a sacrifice fly. A two-out error with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh allowed the Evergreens to get to within a run and put the tying run at third, but Dylan Vanderbunt came on and got a flyout by Oscar Latendresse to end the game.
Ratty got the win for Rhinelander, allowing four runs on four hits with six strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings. Seth Nofftz went 2 for 4 in the contest, and drove in a pair of runs on an RBI single in the first.
Rhinelander (4-10, 2-7 Great Northern) travels to Merrill on Friday.
